Today my Christmas present, À Bout de Souffle, came to my house (by mail) all the way from Korea. I was ecstatic! My mother suggested we watch it together, even though I had a feeling it wouldn’t be her type of movie. I was right. She asked if we could turn it off half way through so she could watch TV. No offence taken, though. New Wave films have always been a solitary viewing experience...

My poor cousin Phil...
he had to endure hours of nosy relatives trying to set him up with local girls just because he never brings a girlfriend to the family Christmas. I know for a fact he has had PLENTY of luck with the ladies - he’s just not willing to subject any of them to a grueling, judge-y interrogation courtesy of my Uncle Pete.

Happy Saturnalia
I’m longing to see what the holiday season would have been like if Christmas hadn’t stolen Saturnalia’s thunder. Jesus was born in the SUMMER. *sigh*
